Latisse®/Kybella
Due to hormonal changes as we age, our eyelashes become thinner and shorter. To combat these effects, Latisse® is a prescription medication which makes you grow fuller, longer and darker eyelashes. Although you may see results after 4 weeks of using Latisse®, maximum effect is noticed at week 16.
Latisse makes eyelashes darker and fuller.
Before you start on Latisse®, a free cosmetic consultation with Renew Medical Aesthetics staff is required to instruct you how to correctly apply this medication and to inform you about possible side effects.
Kybella is an FDA approved injectable medication for dissolving the excess fat under chin, creating a more sculpted appearance of the jaw area. Kybella works by destroying the fat containing cells, which are cleared through body's natural metabolism. Most patients require an average of 2 treatments, spaced 6 - 8 weeks apart.
Side effects include: swelling, bruising, numbness and nodules. If the medication gets close to the mandibular nerve, it can cause an asymmetric smile. Fortunately, all of these possible side effects are typically temporary.
In clinical studies, 79% of people treated with Kybella had improved satisfaction with the appearance of the area beneath their chin (compared to 34% of people treated with placebo) 12 weeks after last treatment.
